What does VCI stand for?

The term “VCI” stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. Metal parts can corrode during storage & transportation. Corrosion prevention oils & greases were used to prevent corrosion, however, it required cleaning before the delivery to the customers.

What is VCI Packaging?

Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI) Packaging is a packaging film that volatilizes the compounds to form a protective layer around metal surfaces. VCI Packaging prevents salt, dirt & other corrosive particles to come in contact with the metal parts.

How long do VCI bags last?

The VCI anti-corrosion chemistry can last between 5 and 20 years depending on how often the bag is open and closed. Opening the bag a few times within a month can yield at least 5 years while opening it less frequently (a few times a year or less) can yield up to 20 years of protection.
